The move comes as the coronavirus accelerates in several countries. Jean Castex explains that "for these countries, the borders are closed and this only concerns French citizens who reside in these countries or citizens of these countries who have a stable residence in France". These travelers, will must be tested for COVID-19, upon arrival on French soil. This decision seeks to counter the lack of a "screening strategy" in some countries, and therefore access to tests, which is often difficult. Travelers from four countries in the world will have to take advantage of a negative test carried out in the last 72 hours to have the right to enter French soil.
